Steampunk Inspired Postcard

The World is Too QUIET
This is my first time taking part in the Sunday Postcard Art Challenge.  This week's theme, chosen by Jean Hardy from Crafty Individuals, is 'Steampunk Inspired.'  The only rule is that the finished artwork must be  4" x 6" postcard size.

I enjoyed playing with this - the background is torn vintage papers (from the books Louise gave me yesterday!), lightly gessoed.   I stamped the cogs and ruler, and punched holes for the rusty wire 'stitching.' The top hatted gentleman was from the Postcard book I got yesterday from a Charity Shop.

I then 'industrialized' it with inks and the sentiment - he wants some noisy machinery!

Blimey that Gent looks very severe & not at all like he's been torn out of a book to make steampunk ! Brilliant !

Living and learning, Joanna. I had to Google it and find out what "Steampump" was. Back to your post, I understood the FEELING of your card.

Brilliant! I loved it!

I am at awe with all the new things I've been learning since I started blogging. You, for instance, have shown me so much beauty with your art.

Since I am so ignorant (what to do?), let me ask you a question, please? Do you create these unbelievable "pages" (like the ones from previous posts), and do you frame them as pictures? I was thinking how awsome it would be to create a huge (I mean huge!) one and frame it to hang on the wall. Oh, my... it would be so fantastic!

Forgive my stupidity. I mean no harm, believe me. I just want to understand it.

Love ya lots!
