Journey of You art Journal class

Page 1 - Blow My Own Trumpet

Having read the notes for the Journey of You art journal class (button on sidebar for more information), I made my blank book yesterday, using a random selection of papers.

Last night I got started with pages 1 and 2.
The images were from old back issues of National Geographic (10p each in a charity/thrift shop), as were most of the background papers.

Please note, that is NOT a nipple to the left
of the monocycling horn blower.
The background paper is a photograph of a planet (Jupiter?).

Page 2 - When I Am Old
I enjoyed creating these pages, although I feel that my very small collection of images and backgrounds
is rather limiting.  I'm also trying to be 'looser'
and not so literal in my art, if you know what I mean,
but old habits die hard :o(

Very good Joanna. I have a real problem with concrete thinking. It is so hard for me to write on the images and really write anything. I am trying to visualize background and image and writing as part of a pattern and not what they are. Maybe need to pick images i do not like! Just love the way Kelly makes the book.

Have fun on the journey, The hardest part is getting started, and you've done that! Valerie

Now how many times have I read that on a blog......"that is not a nipple to the left of a monocycling hornblower!" Brilliant

I noticed that button on your side bar and checked it out and wondered if it might be something I might sign up to do so I am interested to see what you have produced both of which pages look pretty good to me! I may well join you on your journey.

I love what you have done Jo, I'm starting tomorrow.

I had to actually go and get some pens and a glue stick today as I had neither! Not sure what happens to pens in this house, apart from the fact that DS2 seems very capable at either losing, or destroying them!

Are these really your first journal pages? They're awesome!! And I think you should hide a "not a nipple" on every page. Make it your theme, so to speak. LOL

Wow! This is quite a different look from you. Fantastic job though, especially for the first attempt at journal pages. I like the first page best of all.

Great pages Jo. I'm with you all the way on your views on horn blowing! The course looks really good if this is what it urges you to create. I attended an art journalling course recently but felt a bit exposed! I may do more under cover of darkness. I love what you're doing here darlin'. pen x

FINALLY I can leave a comment! It seems like the last 100 times (it may have been more like 2 or 3, but that's beside the point) I've stopped by for a visit, blogger has been all stinkweed and not allowed comments . . . ANYWAY your journal pages are fantastic, the images are so much fun.

It doesn't really look like a nipple. Well, kind of!

:)

I didn't even think of a nipple when I saw your page but now that's all I see. That's like a "Don't think about a purple elephant" line. I had to go look for the nipple. Haha! Anyway, I love your pages. Thay are very creative!

Well, your horn blower does look topless, so I am glad you explained...

Great pages. I am impressed! I understand trying to be "looser". I fight it all of the time (are you a control freak in your daily life?- I am!)

I really like your pages. I'm taking this class too and I know exactly what you mean about working looser. I's fun though!
