Summer of Colour - Green

(A Peep Behind the Scenes)
This week Kristin's Summer of Colour is all about the colour GREEN.
I didn't really know where to start so I rummaged about in my stash and found the vintage green swimming pool ticket,
and then I found the picture from an
original 1950's underwear advertisement.
Together they spoke of swimming pool
changing rooms to me (ugh, hate them!).
The background is a blended paper and
gessoed background.
(It was only afterwards that I noticed the man in the background at boob level saying,
"Now go right over."
Oops, that makes it sound a bit naughty!)

I used Distress Stain for the green tint
(which is actually greener in the 'flesh' than it looks in
the photo) and I coloured in her undies using
watercolour crayons.
The keyhole (plastic embellishment) was rather too bright
so I dulled it with some acrylic paint and then smeared
over some gold lumiere paint.
The title is from an old book.

I'm going to post this with Kristin and then I'll go blog hopping to see all the other green creations.  If you want to join in or have a look at the other entries, click on the flashing Summer of Color button at the top of my right hand sidebar.

I could do with undies like them to pull me into shape!

The greens you have used are beautiful.

The keyhole an Urbani moment if ever there was one.

The clock in the background, the distressed borders, and the "Peeping Tom" - fantastic! I loved it, Joanna. Oh, the paper clip holding the ticket. Details that I just love to pieces, when I click on the picture and have it blown up big for me to appreciate.

How cool! It's the same pleasure that I find when I read a mistery book.
Love ya! To pieces!

It's funny how one thing leads you to another and then it all just come together.
Your work is very nice, and I think that what is going on on the background just makes the whole picture come together even more.
