Mail Art, sent and received

Just before I went on holiday I sent off my
latest Mail Art to the Mail Art girls.
The theme this time was

Turns out I sent them a month early, silly me!

The backgrounds of all the envelopes were
from a book about the Great Exhibition
of 1851, in London.

I muted the colours with a smear of gesso.

Added images of 'visitors',

a few rubber stamps

and tissue tape.

In return, I have received fantastic
'Vintage' Mail Art
from Linda

(I love the child/ doll image holding the address label)
(Wonderful vintage goodies enclosed)
and also from Laura

(This has a journal feel to it, like it's telling a story)
(More vintage goodies to play with, lucky me!)
Thank you, girls.
I LOVE your 'vintage' Mail Art!

I like! Can you tell me where you purchased the Air Mail (Par Avion) stamp, please.

Hi Mr Cachet, I've just emailed you with the details but in case you don't get it - the Par Avion stamp is a PaperArtsy stamp which I bought online in a sale (poss being discontinued?).

Joanna, ALL the envelopes you created are so very beautiful! I adore mine, the couple in brown sitting in front of the bridge . . . I really do LOVE it, but look at all the others you created! They are exquisite! Now don't get too big a swelled head, but are so rocking the mail art - phew!!!
I love what you received as well, funny - I have similar ones here too!! : ) lucky we are.
