You've been framed!

The riots in London and other English major cities have been sickening.
Like many others I watched the events unfold on the tv.
DH Grant, a Metropolitan Police Officer,
was in the Major Incident Control Room on Monday and
ended up working a 24 hour shift - but he was safe, thank goodness.

Many people are homeless,
3 are dead protecting their business,
hard working people have had their businesses trashed
by mindless, greedy, and violent people.

In all this dreadful violence and disorder, however,
there IS some humour to be found.

This man will get a criminal record
(if he hasn't already got one)
for looting.......

a Tescos Basics bag of Basmati Rice.

His mother must be so proud of him.

Hi, Joanna! I've been thinking about you while seeing all the horrible news stories about the senseless rioting and looting that has been going on! Please stay safe and I sure hope Grant doesn't have to be on the streets amongst it all!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog - I hope to start participating more again and visiting your blog, and others that I have neglected far too long!

Messages from my family express many of the same sentiment you stated that i share entirely. There is no excuse for theft and destruction or the dismemberment of lives. The belief that entitlement are ones right and the glorification of misbehavior by celebrities along with payments for knowing nothing and doing even less are the poor role models filling the heads of too many irresponsible young men and women.

It just goes to prove how senseless and stupid it all is - fancy getting a police record for a bag of cheap rice eh? This is England not Somalia and there is no excuse is there? Hope that by now the rioters are coming to realise how ridiculous their actions were though I have to say anyone who would steal a bag of rice from a shop filled with more lucrative items probably won't have that much sense!

I have been thinking of you and Grant. I hope that the situation is brought under control very soon. I am sure Grant has his own thoughts on the cause and solution to this sort of mindless violence and destruction.

Sickening to think how many starving Africans that rice would feed ( and I bet he just throws it away ) Maybe swapping to a famine stricken country would teach him a lesson or two.

Glad to hear that hubby was safe from the riots.
Well, it seems to be quietening down now, Thank goodness! I agree with Penny , we should send all those mindless looting rioters to a famined part of Africa, and then lets let them see how really hard done by they all are then!!

HI Jo - hubby and I have been watching closely from here - he was very upset about Salford where he was born. We both don't get it - and will stopping Social Media really solve the problem. Love to know where the parents were of these kids! Anyway, upsetting but so happy you and yours are safe - what a world we live in..
