Grant and I had such a lovely day at
(the Royal Horticultural Society gardens)
yesterday, celebrating our
17th Wedding Anniversary :o)

The weather started off dull and damp
but in the afternoon, the sun
came out and it was beautiful.

I've picked out some photos
to tell the story of the day.

Can you spot the fish?
They swam into very shallow
water to snatch the bread from
the ducks!

A kind passer by offered to take our photo :o)

The glasshouse is HUGE
and houses 4 different climates.

I really like the pattern on this cactus.

Just behind Grant there is a
gorgeous waterfall.

I loved the bullrush sculptures,
and the statues behind....

I was happier than I look!

The rose gardens were delightful.

This one reminded me of a beautiful
taffeta dress with layers of petticoats.

I wish you could smell these roses,
the scent was heavy in the air.

This is a fibre glass cast of an original Henry Moore.
He took his inspiration from a bone fragment.

Another kind passer by offered to
take our photo :o) :o)

and finally, I thought you might
like this cute little fella.......

We had our picnic in the car
(too wet and windy to sit out),
but later we were able to enjoy a delicious
ice cream while sitting in the sunshine.

We decided to sign up for a yearly
membership so we'll be back!

Gorgeous photos. I often wish I had a camera to take photos of the roses in a garden I pass every day. Every day I think it and every day I forget my camera!

There is some fish like that near the outlet place in Dover, they always fascinate me when we get down there.

Lovely post Jo, so glad you had a good day together :)

What a wonderful way to spend your anniversary!
Beautiful photos...wonder how far Wisley is from here?
And what kind passers-by...:)
Hugs xx

I may have said this before, but we used to pass Wisley on our way back and forth to visit Mother-in-law when she and we lived nearby. Our greatest pleasure was to stop on the way home and drink coffee and browse the bookshop in an effort to improve the day before we tackled the M25!
Glad you had a great day.

Thank you for all those photos, Joanna -what a wonderful place. At first I thought you captured a real heron landing in the pond, wings outstretched! The sculptures are beautiful. It looks like a peaceful place to visit and I would have signed up for a membership too. I love the first photo of you & Grant on the curvy bench. You both look very happy. And *I* am very happy you signed up for my prayer flag swap - yippeee!!
