One for the album.

Continuing the saga of
Lovey Dovey......
(Sing-along to "Up on the roof")
I was rather concerned yesterday morning
to see that Lovey Dovey's nest was empty
of the fluffy baby, but there was a
new egg was in its place.
Baby hadn't looked ready to fly.....

I was wrong :)
In the afternoon I was happy again.
On my roof was the little
Lovey Dovey family,
all cooing and happy together.

Please excuse the rubbish photo,
they were very high up and I only had my little
camera to hand.

Well done, Lovey Dovey,
success at last!

What a lovely start to the morning. I don't know what is going on up here but the bird population in our garden seems very sparse and has done for a few years. All we seem to get are crows and jackdaws. I fear the worst.

What a great roof top photo... and another egg too :)

We have a variety of birds in our garden... and they are a joy to watch and a hedgehog!

Yesterday a wood pigeon was sitting in the bird bath cooling off for ages, which made me smile.

Another blue sky day here.... hooray!

My DH feeds the humming birds and makes their nectar everyday. This is stored in retired Tonic bottles in the fridge. They tap on the window if the food level drops too low, usually after Woody has been on it. He also protects the hummers from the raccoon who nightly goes after the feeder. DH also feeds seed eaters, mostly little bird like tufted titmouse(TTs) red cardinals, and an assortment of other little birdies. he regards them as his.
The photo is great. they are out of the way of playful kitties!

We've been feeding a little sparrow in our back garden. She has shunned the bird table out front and sussed out that no other birdies have realised Craig sometimes leaves a trail of seeds on his way to the bird room out back. We realised we had a regular visitor a couple of weeks ago and he's been making up extra soft food to leave out in a little tray for her now. It's mainly her but occasionally we see Daddy sparrow helping out carry the food back to the nest. Craig's talking about making a little feeding platform for her now as she's getting a little to used to us pottering around in the garden and comes down while we are still there so we're worried about cats getting her.

So happy to see these Lovey Dovey pics. Well spotted Jo!
