Summer of Color - Week 1

It's Week 1 of Kristin's
wonderful Summer of Color,
with the colour prompt of
turquoise and citron green.

(Don't be Koi - click pic to make bigger)
I am using my little
Summer of Color moleskine,
the same one that I
have used for the previous two
SOC events (I enjoyed looking
back through the book).

I lined the pages with book text
and gesso to give the pages some
strength and texture.
The turquoise and citron green are
acrylic paints, messily finger painted,
and the Koi is painted with Lumiere
paints, which have a lovely sheen
that can't be seen in the photo :(

I loved doing this one,
and I'm looking forward to seeing
the colour combo will be for next
week.

It's nice to see some summery colours - they certainly aren't with us in Hampshire today, this week, this month...Love your art work - the text peeping through and the vibrancy!

You have been busy and looking back in ones books is so much fun. I am always impressed with my past creations and love that moment of "Did I Do That"?

Fancy meeting you here. :) I love that you have a journal for all your past Summer of Color pages. How fabulous to keep them all together.

I absolutely love this spread. A gorgeous use of the colours. The fish is stunning! :)

Your Koi is awesome. What a great idea to use the same journal for the SOC. I love Moleskines. I'm actually making a journal from Gelli prints and various types of beads made with the colors from each week that I'll put together at the end of the SOC challenge.

Oh wow! I didn't realize that you have one book with both year's in them! That is SO cool - now to add to that is really fun - it must be fun to look through all those pages :)
AND your first installment for SOC 3 is just beautiful. The koi is a perfect pop against the cool colors and I love all the finger painting, xoxo

Your Koi is gorgeous - I love your colour scheme, he works so well against the cooler colours of the background. I love the finger painted background too - gives a real feel of water movement. Lovely!

what a great way to use the colors - that koi is just so gorgeous against them - and I love lumiere paints as well, I bet the sheen is really beautiful in person. Great idea to be using the same journal for all the consecutive SOC's!

I thought I commented on this one. I love your Koi - he's just perfect for the colours and that background is gorgeous. I adore the fact they are all in the same book - next meet up you have to bring it along! Pretty please :)
