Summer of Color - Week 6

The colour prompt for the final
week at Summer of Color, is
Sage Green and Sepia.

I voted for this colour combination
but then struggled for inspiration, duh!

Then, I popped into a local charity/thrift
shop on Friday and, stuffed into a house
clearance box, found this wonderful vintage
and very used, very loved, and very large
paint palette - and it was all mine for £2.

You can tell how happy I am to have got it!

I'm going to put it on the wall in my newly
remodelled studio (ok, conservatory), as
a constant source of inspiration.
I love the colours and texture on both sides.

It got me thinking about the previous owner
of this palette, and I wonder what type of
painting he or she did.

So, suitably inspired I painted some old
tubes of paint onto my lined and gessoed
SOC Moleskine pages, and included the
quote by Pablo Picasso;

"Painting is just another way of
keeping a diary."

I have really enjoyed taking part in
this year's Summer of Color.
Big thanks to Kristin and to the other
artists who have left such lovely comments.
You are all an inspiration to me!

A very impressive palette! Good thing I don't rely on any of my painting to act as diary - people would have a very strange impression of me and my days!

I need to use Bloglovin and not Feedly as the latter has a screwy way of listing blogs.
That is a super find from the thrift store. I think I would have a time using sepia and sage. I love the pages you created.

I absolutely love your pages that you made with this week's SOC colors! And your quote is SO TRUE! I love it!!! Thanks so much for sharing your talents with all of us at SOC! And I love your thrift store find, too.

OK - Your work is always "spot on" and very witty, always very artistic, etc. . . But, the work you have posted this summer is blowing me away! It feels like you are working at a whole other level. It feels like the real Jo is getting out there. (Was that TOO artsy/fartsy?) Well I am enjoying your posts, and love that you updated your fiddlesnips header.

I love this. Imagine the paintings that that palette helped created, the stories it could tell...so thrilling and fabulous. What a glee-filled find. :)

I love the image you created so much. Beautiful use of the colours. Just wonderful.

Thank you also for your concern, thankfully the aftershocks have been a lot less today, and my nerves have had a chance to recuperate. Just a low level whispering anxiety now, rather than a screeching banshee!! :)

Well done on your charity shop find and your artwork this week is fabulous. Love it as your blog header.

I am not at all artistic, though son and daughter-in-law are. I was about to delete my blog then came to my senses as I saw my blog as a way of keeping a diary (to share) :-)

Love the Picasso quote
as well as your new blog

overdue for a re-do, but

Absolutely gorgeous page. Again! And I'm still green with envy over your charity shop find. (Our local shops swing between pretty scabby or extortionately over priced. And that's being kind! I may need to venture further afield!)

It's been so much fun this year hasn't it?
