....and with a kiss she slipped away.

My heart is breaking.
This morning we had to let sweet Rosie Mae go.
Approaching 18 years old, she was getting
increasingly doddery but was still enjoying a
good quality of life with her family.

Last night, however, she had a massive seizure
from which she wasn't going to recover.
To cut a long story short we agreed with our
kind vet this morning that it was time to let
our baby-girl slip away.

There'll never be another dog like her.
I will miss the shadow at my feet and
her constant and fun companionship.

Sweet dreams, darling girl.

Oh Jo ... I am so sorry.

Rosie was a lovely dog and I know how much you all loved her... Luke and Hope grew up with her.

Much love to you all

Dearest Jo, I am so, so sorry to read this post and so very sorry for the loss of your most beautiful girl Rosie Mae. What a wonderful and long life she had because of you, and your family and how intertwined she was within the fabric of not only your life, but those of your children as well. I remember reading her story awhile back, and Rosie Mae becoming part of your family was meant to be... I know there aren't many memories for your children or you that don't include her, and so I hope you are finding comfort from them, from one another and all of us like me who share the loss with you of this most special girl. Again, I am so very sorry....

So sorry - she was obviously so much loved you will of course miss her terribly but rest assure the awful grief will pass and the time will come when you can remember the happy times without the dreadful anguish you currently feel. Thinking of you.

Heaven has gained
a dear, furry angel,
who will surely be
at the foot of the Rainbow
Bridge to greet you with
another kiss, someday.

I know the ache of that
last kiss and hug, but I
hope it soothes your heart
to know--really know--
that sweet Rosie Mae only
felt love at the end, and
no more.

Sending big old hugs your
way, Joanna, as you navigate
this hard time.
