Documented Life Project - Week 7

The theme for February at
is
Layers You Will Love!
Week 7's Art Challenge is
Cover Up the Good Stuff
and the Journal Prompt is
Going Undercover.

I suffered a messy disaster with an
image transfer on the left hand page
(or a 'flub' as my friend Julie says!).

Hurrumph!

So, I photocopied the image of the girl
(she is actually Kim Kardashian, whoever that is!)
and glued that over the mess, clear gesso'd
over the image and then painted her
in monochrome colours.

I'm actually quite pleased how she turned
out and disaster was averted!

I used a quote by Ismail Haniyeh,
"Some people think that the truth can be
hidden with a little cover-up and decoration.
But as time goes by, what is true is
revealed, and what is fake fades away."

I'm busy working on my pages for
Week 8 already, as I'd fallen a little
bit behind (pesky life getting in the way
of my arting!).

Thanks for looking!

Love seeing what you are doing for this Jo, and not to worry I am behind too. We'll see if I can jump into week 8 before the week is up and a new challenged announced! I like your "recovery" here, I would have never guessed it was a "flub"!! xoxox

Brilliant save of a page Jo! Glad to hear at least some people don't know about the Kardashians! It really is sickening that the whole family has been and still is on tv, in the news, etc. for several years now(at least here in the US). I get so turned off by that name that when it comes on I turn the channel. I do like the way you made her over:)

Fabulous Jo - I am seriously behind on this challenge now - but I think it's the fact I'm not actually documenting life mmmmmmm

Fantastic cover up. I don't know how that cover up works. I see in stores. So pretty magical.
